Less than a month ago, we opened the doors to Makers & Pages with shelves full of books, a marketplace filled with beautiful things made by talented hands, and a hope that this little space would become something meaningful to the community.
And wow.
In just a few short weeks, we’ve welcomed neighbors, visitors, families, friends, readers, makers, coffee drinkers, curious wanderers, and people who simply came in to see what was happening.
What started with books, crocheted animals, wood products, candles, lavender, skincare, honey, and baked goods has grown—quickly.
Very quickly.
Apparently, Makers & Pages has no interest in sitting still.
We now have our own coffee label, several beautiful skincare and bath collections, fresh sourdough bread, fresh flower bouquets, an expanding selection of products for men, a growing women’s boutique, an impressive collection of bamboo products, wooden toys, puzzles, gifts, and all kinds of unique little surprises that seem to pop up around every corner.
And we’re still growing.
But what we love most isn’t simply what is filling the shelves.
It’s what is happening inside the space.
People are lingering.
They’re browsing for a new book, picking up a puzzle, discovering a local maker they didn’t know before, sharing coffee with a friend, or sitting down for a conversation.
Some stop to write a thank-you card or decorate a box that will be sent to our deployed troops.
Others wander through the Makers Marketplace and leave carrying something they never knew they were looking for.
And soon, there will be even more reasons to stay awhile.
Our event calendar is filling quickly with cookie decorating, bracelet making, flower arranging, sourdough making, crafting classes, and plenty of other experiences still taking shape.
There really is always something to do here.
We’ve also expanded our hours and are now open Sundays from 11:00 AM–5:00 PM, giving you one more day each week to slow down, wander the shelves, grab a cup of coffee, and see what’s new.
And September is going to be a big one.
We’re especially excited for our Grand Opening Celebration on September 12, followed by the West Side Crawl on September 19.
Then, somehow—and we’re not entirely sure how the calendar moved this fast—we’ll be heading straight into the holiday season.
We have so much planned.
New makers. New products. Classes. Gatherings. Gifts. Books. Coffee. Community. And probably a few things we haven’t even thought of yet.
That might be one of our favorite things about Makers & Pages.
It keeps becoming.
Every maker who joins us adds something new. Every visitor brings a little more life into the space. Every conversation, class, purchase, cup of coffee, and quiet moment becomes part of the story we’re building together.
Less than a month in, we’re incredibly grateful for everyone who has walked through our doors.
And if you haven’t visited yet—or if it’s been a week and you think you’ve already seen everything—we should probably warn you:
Come back.
Something has almost certainly changed.
